Some hills become part of the city’s identity.
They are more than a challenge. They push you to your limits.
Ladera Norte, Hill of Life — also known as Heart Attack Hill — and Jester are just a few of those hills in Austin.
But some would argue none is more iconic than Jester, with the view of downtown Austin behind you and a seemingly endless climb that just gets steeper and steeper near the top.
King of Jester℠/™ is for runners, cyclists — and yes, there needs to be a fat tire category — and moms and dads who want to show their fitness and strength by pushing their kid up this hill in a stroller.
Maybe you want to challenge a friend or family member to a friendly duel, with both of you going up at the same time, while fans and the crowd line the hill screaming at you to give it everything you’ve got.
In the end, there can only be one King or Queen of Jester.
But there will be lots of categories and age groups.
In the end, it’s about bragging rights.
In the end, it’s about community.
And in the end, it’s about putting our hearts and legs through a grueling challenge for a good cause.
We are still figuring out the details.
